I was talking to a friend of mine about the importance of eating right while working out and we came across a question i had no iidea wat the answer is. What is better having no food and like starving and skippin a meal or 2 or eating fast food (and foods like that). Alot of ya might say "that you should have ur meals already planned out so u wouldnt go through that" but this is like a hypothetical question. Which one, Fast Food or No Food?

What kind of fast food? McDonalds is different from Subway.

Id say fast food either way though. You're still taking calories in which you need to grow.

funny, like those are your only two choices...how about stopping at a super market and grabing some fresh fruit, cottage cheeze or something else healthy

werd people make it sound like there only option is mc donalds!! If there is a mc donalds in sight...I'm sure there is a gas station...Grab a bag of beef jerky, and some milk to hold you over til your home.

I think eating junk is better than nothing. If you're that pressed for time, even McDonalds can be not so bad. A grilled chicken with no mayo on it is pretty good. If you're on a low carb diet ax the bun. It's an expensive 25g of protein but it shouldn't be a daily habit anyways.

I meant it as if those were your only 2 choices as in there was no other food but fast food (and no subways tho)

Well, if those are the ONLY 2 choices...you're left with only 2 outcomes:

1. Get Fat
2. Die

:D

i meant it as in 1 meal, obviously u gonna get fat n die i meant it as in 1 meal of fast food instead of starving n skipping a meal

wow can't you guys just answer the question? of course its a better option to hit up a subway or grab something healthy from a store but he just asked a hypothetical question don't need to be all dumb about it.

anyways i'm no expert but i'd imagine it's better to eat then to starve. just try to find something chicken (grilled) or if you can't just get a burger or a sandwich or something, just don't go crazy with the mayo and cheese and all that...and don't superzize fries and get a huge coke, or order 20 tacos or anything. if there's no other option, just do what you gotta do and try to keep the calories in check.

No excuses, If your only choice is a shitty McDonalds style place then go in and grab a salad and a few hamburgers. Throw away the buns and eat the burgers and the salad.

See - No excuses :)

Their is never only two choices....unless you are a typical American fat pig.

A double cheeseburger (1 dollar) is claimed by McDonalds to have 25g protein.

The protein is the lowest grade soy/vegetable protein around I think.... it probably has an amino acid profile just above gelatin.

If there are NO OTHER CHOICES, AND YOU WILL DIE FROM MALNURISHMENT, then maybe you should get it. I might DIE THE DEATH! maybe
But be aware that in most fast food places, the food is designed economically.... even if you ate 4 of those double cheeseburgers, the protein you are getting is of such low grade it almost wouldn't even count. And the fats and cholesteral would also be a rough hit.

But, food is food. And you gotta eat. So eat up.

Most fast food places are starting to make (futile) attempts at cleaning up their menus. McDonalds does have salads, and that would be ideal in case you drove through that town that only has fast food chains. Wherever that is.

Anybody see the McDonalds ads for the sub like sandwiches they came out with over the summer? McDonalds had some funny commercials bragging how they have BAKED CHICKEN! On a BAKED BUN! I never got around to seeing the specs (or at least I don't remember) but I'm pretty sure the fat content was just as high as their other foods.... all that marketing reminds me of MUSCLE TECH!

So what...........All McDonalds have salads. They have had them for years. Also, what is the problem? You guy 2 hamburgers and eat the meat only and that way you still keep a somewhat healthy diet without eating shit food.

methinks you are just looking for excuses now.

Speaking of fast food...

I heard Juggernaut loves the McDonald's Shamrock Shake!!! You should all PM him and ask him about it! I heard he's had about 10 this month...:finger:

Hey Jugger(wiseass)

lol - no shit sherlock :p But it's better than junk.

You could always get a grilled chicken sandwich and throw everything out and keep the chicken. Does McDonalds have grilled chicken though

For the most part that is true - transfatty acids and an abundance of saturated fat could be exceptions.
