No one has mentioned Green Tea! It's a great habit to drink as much of it as possible. Helps with Cortisol (stress hormone) and helps to eliminate belly fat. Swap out your coffee for Green tea and try it for 6 to 8 weeks. Message me back and let me know how much fat you've lost. It's a much cheaper option than spending $35.00 on lean extreme and it's better for ya! Cheers, angel77:thumb:

This true? Ive never heard that green tea will burn belly fat

yes but not belly fat fat in general

i think gazhole said it best " fat is like a resevoir it drains evenly" or something like that

im curious about this fish oil ive learned that replacing general carbs with carbs from fruits and veggies worked great but ive never tried fish oil and for most ppl the belly seems to b the last place you will lose the body fat since it seems to b the first place you store it

the carb source is not as important as the total number of cals..

dont get me wrong
natural foods
fruits
whole grains
etc

are the healthiest choices

but the total number of calories is whats important when talking about "weight loss"

yea this is true i guess the carb choice is for a healthier concious and i have read several times that apparently you get an extra boost in the calories you burn per workout if you eat an apple an hour before you hit the weights. anyone else ever heard this?

rubbish. as bendur said eating before you train will allow you to get more out of your session. Try some carbs(I like oatmeal) and protein(20g of whey)

Okay, let's back up here.

If you're carb-depleted and looking to deplete muscle glycogen before a carb load, a bit of fruit can indeed be beneficial. I'm not entirely clear upon the mechanism, but a preload of sucrose (and/combined fructose and glucose, found in fruit) helps deplete muscle glycogen, setting you up for supercompensation during the ensuing carb-load. Additionally, the preworkout fructose is taken up preferentially by the liver (liver-glycogen status signals anabolic readiness). Lyle McDonald recommends exploiting this effect in UD2.0

This isn't quite the same as what you are suggesting.

It's like an accelerant when building a bonfire, you put a little lighter fluid and neswpaper in and it gets the rest of the fire going.....reason why I eat a small snack before cardio too.....

So if you want to get in a powerful strength conditioning workout fructose will spare the most muscle glycogen, yet if you're going for an endurance workout glucose will help, right?

My point was that if you're preparing to carb load you'll want to deplete muscle glycogen as much as you possibly can. Since your liver is already depleted, a little preworkout glucose and fructose (ie and apple or two an hour preworkout) is a good idea since your tension workout (I'm specifically calling out UD2.0 here) will deplete muscle glycogen better - setting you up for supercompensation.

Otherwise, I really don't think it'll matter.
