How important is fibre in gaining weight?

Is it needed at all?

Fibre is known for helping your bowel system, but oats contain a lot of fibre and everybody seems to eat them.
 
You need plenty of fiber because you're A. eating a lot of protein, which will clog you up without the fiber, B. you're often going to be low carb, which means low fiber without something replacing it and C. it's just generally good for you and prevents a bloated belly.

Gaining weight should be a measly concern compared to your health.

Eat your fibre.
 
stop eating fibre and you'll definitly get heavier.
