hey everyone, ive been training for around 4 years and have always bulked, i am currently 180lbs 5ft 10. i have put on some un wanted fat in this time and abs arent very visible anymore. im going on holiday on the 14th july and am looking to cut as much fat as possible, am just worried that i will lose muscle and look smaller than i do now. my maintenace is around 3000 calories. any advice on diet and how my training should be would be good. for the meantime i will be doing a lot of research. thanks

As long as you maintain a high protein intake while you're in your cutting phase I think you'll be fine...I recommend reducing carb intake and upping the intensity of your workouts. If you want to do cardio it won't hurt either...this is what I've done in the past, I'm not an expert and am just talking from personal experience.

I just got done with a cut myself. Now this is honestly something you should read up on, so instead I will give you tips.

*Eat as natural and organic as possible. Preservatives are more difficult for your body to process and will only slow you down during your cut.

*Stay away from carbonation period. If you are serious about training (especially if you are an athlete) you should be doing this already. No sodas, pops, cokes, anything. It negatively affects your CNS and will slow down your body's reflexes.

*Minimal Sodium (salt) intake.

*HIIT - Instead of 2 hour long cardio sessions, shoot for intensity in short periods of time. I always did no more than 15 minutes of HIIT at the end of my training session and I was ALWAYS smoked. As far a training goes, HIIT IMHO is a key ingredient to cutting. You will burn more "calories" while keeping your body anabolic (ideally).

Hope that helps.
