I keep being told that I should be taking fish oil, but no one says how much. Any ideas?

6-9 grams a day.

It is also important to know the nutrient density in each gram of fish oil, as it can vary quite a bit brand to brand.

What is the optimal daily level of DhA and EPA?

I'd like to find out where the Kirkland brand stands, as I'm been taking their fish oil tablets for years.

That would be on the typical does 180:120 EPA: DHA

I have read a lot about brand quality and the distillation process, and the impact on quality of the fish oil. Most recommend a higher quality, I haven't noticed any difference between brands.

What vitamins fish oil has ?

you can buy some oil tablets with a multi , which contain almost all of the vitamins needed

Muscle Gelz Transdermals
IronMag Labs Prohormones
I get whatever wild salmon and fish oil is on sale (Costco sells it cheap) and I take 10g, for 3g combined EPA/DHA, which the AHA says is GRAS without a doctor's supervision.

2 won't do much.

I used to take 2 cap gel per meal = 10-12 fish caps daily .. I need to start taking them again..makes alot of difference

I have not been able to continually take fish oil capsules (up to 10g) for more than a week. What benefits, personally, have you all seen from taking 6-10g of fish oil daily? You can give me all the research you want, but I want to hear it from somebody that actually does this regularly.

I've been taking 10g a day for a few years now. Hubby takes almost that - he's a tough sell, but he takes 6g daily.

We are both somewhat prone to depression and ADHD (me more than hubby; I take Dexedrine for ADHD) - the following is NOT scientific, okay, but we've both noticed we seem to get along better now (interestingly, depressed people don't make the best spouses). Omega 3 supplementation is associated with improvements in depression and attention scores. It has also been clinically shown to reduce inflammation due to arthritis, which I don't have and don't intend to have, fingers crossed. I'm hoping it may offer some protection in this regard.

One effect I notice almost instantly is increased postprandial satiety if I knock back a few fish oil caps with a hot beverage a few minutes before I eat a meal. This may have more of an effect in women than in men owing to cholecystokinin's greater impact upon female postprandial satiety (men may respond better to "volume" than fat content and composition in meals), but hey, I'll take it!

When I used to take 10-12 fish oil caps a day.. I had this "glow" in my face.. and my face was super clear like a baby face lol.. but seriously

Honestly, with our daily diet.. we consume alot of Omega 6 .. food that contain Omega 6can be found in many cereals, in eggs, whole-grain baked goods and poultry.

We need to balance the types of fats; Omega 3 is just as important to your body as Omega 6 is, and without Omega 3 you may not be getting the full benefit of the Omega 6 you may be taking.

Why are you no longer taking the 10-12 g of fish oil you were taking before?
