Thinking about people you know and what you have read or heard, is it possible to lose excessive skin? I have lost a lot of weight but my stomach skin isn't cooperating AT ALL. The fat is going , but the skin is taking its sweet time going back to where it belongs. :yell:

Once I have damaged the skin...is all lost even if I am able to get a to low fat %???

it just takes time for the body to readjust. U might have to have it surgicaly removed if it doesnt disapait

I was afraid of that. :sob: :bawling:

Don't worry about that now. Just continue doing what you have been. Give it a lil time;)

Glad to see you back:D

O girl I could have written that! after as many csections I have had and the babes weighing in at over 12 lbs each! 8 pregnancies.. and 2 other surgeries.. I can sooo relate to the skin issue.. it makes me crazy I know my waist would be soo much smaller if the skin would bounce back .. but it is going back SLOWLY... My dr tells me that I should wait at least a year after I hit my ultimate goal before I even think of surgery...

Welcome back..have not seen ya around for a while.

How old are you? Generally speaking, if you are under 35 and do not have any weird conditions it will snap back eventually.

I am 32...almost 33.

My problem areas are my stomach mostly and my legs a little...genetically I carry more weight in my hips and legs and they seem to be doing ok considering they have had to adjust a lot. The stomach, however, is NOT a pretty sight. It has snapped back some, but the skin "looks" stretched and is stretched. I really, really, really don't want to have to have surgery. Even if it helps the "sag" there will always be a horrible scar. :(

Thanks for the feedback.

hey for a woman thats not realy a bad way to carry weight. At least you arnt a guy who has boobs even at 6%

Part of it is genetics, but it will tighten up some. Drink that water and build those muscles. That'll help too.

Have you heard of Mina from the BFL women's board? She was huge before and her skin looks great! She swore by daily loofah! It can't hurt anyway!:p

I know I had periods when the skin was looser as I was losing, and then one day I just noticed it was tighter! :D

And I am 38, and have had 2 babies.

Your skin should tighten up with any kind of muscle gain, and loss of excess fat. Try doing weight training 3-4 times per week and and incorporating aerobic exercise 3 times a week, gradually upping the intensity on both. This along with eating clean foods and drinking lots of water throughout the day should take care of the excess skin over some time.

gash from?? :D

gash from?? :D

A knob sticking out in a boat. My son was standing up and I reached for him to sit down. The driver revved and stopped. I sat him down but fell into it with the weight of my body, backwards onto my bum. It didn't hurt, but I threw a piece of fat to the fish that was hanging on the know, and had 8 stitches. Fortunately for me, it was on the underside of my arm, near the elbow, so it didn't damage any muscle. I had to cover it up real quick so my hubs wouldn't get sick, and tell him it looked worse then it was (which it was). He can't handle blood and guts, and broken bones on me or the kids.

ouch :)
