I need to make a purchase to help me in the kitchen, I buy 40lbs of boneless chicken every 2.5 weeks and im getting tired of cutting it all up wit a knife takes about 2 hours. Thinking of either a food processor or meat grinder which one makes the most sense and gives you the most versatility with meal planning?

depends on what your making(processor=mush, grinder=burger)i myself say grinder(cheab in sportmans guide ,ail order catalog)

Get a pair of kitchen scissors. It cut my prep time in half easily. Or use a better knife ( Amazon.com: Victorinox 40520 Fibrox 8-Inch Chef's Knife: Kitchen & Dining is pretty good)

The food processor/grinder will give you ground chicken, which isn't really that great.

BTW, where do you buy 40lbs of chicken at once? Costco/Sams?

Damn, thats a hell of a price. Dont think there is one anywhere near me even though we have one of the nations largest chicken companies down the street.

Id go with a sharp knife, scissors, or meat tenderizer/hammer. so many options but it comes down to, "What do you want from the chicken?" I would not run it through a food processor. Meat grinder would be okay but super lean chicken breast burgers will get boring. Spaghetti and ground chicken breast? Lots of options. Mix it up.

Damn and I thought my 5kilos for £17 was good!

I use a knife but if you want to save time try a meat slicer. Again it depends on what you're doing with the chicken. A slicer will cut from paper thin to about an inch thick depending on the model.

i can remember reading a while back that putting meats in the food processor makes it harder for ur body to digest it or absorb it, dont quote me, dont know if its correct or not, something about chewing it is better
