This is preety much the way I do them except that I let them sit out for about 10 to 15 minutes before I start cooking them. Then I put them on the burner at high till I get a rapid boil, then turn to a medium boil for 7 minutes. When the timer goes off I pour out the hot water an run cold water over them till I can handle them by hand and set in fidge for about 15 to 20 minutes.

To peel roll on counter top with slight pressure to crack shells, then tap the fat end with a spoon (this is where air forms a pocket and provides a way to start peeling) peel under cold running water. This has worked everytime for me.

Learned this for my Mom and she was the deviled egg queen for Holiday and church dinners.

I've never been good at boiling eggs..so I just broke down and bought an egg machine. They work wonders!

i have one but it can only cook 7 at a time (i like to do more)

it works well for the peeling factor and it's easy...but mine would frequently break the shells and a lot of the egg would ooze out. messy and i'd lose at least 1/2 an egg that way every time.

Yeah, mine only cooks 7 as well. I think the most i've ever seen was 9 but that was in Europe. I hate it when the eggs break too. I went 1 whole month w/o breaking an egg..my record ended on Sat. LOL. However, do you have the measuring cup w/ the pin on the bottom? I've found if you measure the water exactly with numbers on the cup(which correspond to the number of eggs) then the eggs don't break.

This is the best invention ever......Breakfast is my least favorite meal just because i have to deal with peeling eggs

Im going to order..:rocker:

Yep, I have it and I use it to measure exactly but they still seem to break most of the time. It's a huge pain to clean when that happens to so I've been sticking to boiling them in a pot again.

Thanks though!

i cooked them a little less than i had been and
i soaked 'em in cold water after cooking instead of just rinsing.

Yea, I found that's the key as well. Don't cook them too long and te shells peel right off.
