Take him to court? A lot of the time it's not necessary. A lot of guys would gladly give up parental rights and never see the kid or the girl again. And they don't have to pay child support if they do that? Great double positive!

I failed my 2nd semester of Algebra last year ( mainly due to sleeping ), but I was allowed to do the online course etc. Well, when I hit the sticking point where I couldn't go any further ( which is about 30, 30 minute lessons short of finishing ) I called up to the school for help from the teacher handling the online math, and he had resigned. Lucky me, sons of bitches Jesus'd me out of 2 weeks of my summer. And you know you can't even wear shorts at my school? It's 100 degrees outside for fucks sake. Anyhow, end rant. Thanks anyway though.

The fact that my ex is oh... probably around $25,000 in arrears now proves this point. If someone really doesn't want to pay it's not that hard to avoid, frequent changing of jobs, working under the table. Even with traces out for places of employment people aren't always easy to track down.
To be perfectly honest I don't care if I never see another dime from my ex, he's so hell bent on 'hiding' from me to avoid paying support that he's not seen his kids in nearly a year and they are both much healthier and happier for it.

I am a divorce attorney who also does parental rights terminations and this statement is not always true. Child support is not considered a right, it is an obligation. Even if you terminate the person's rights, the child support obligation will still remain (It depends on the state but I dont know of any that a termination stops the support).

I agree with this, but at the same time BritChick makes a point. My dad has always put his money and assets in his wife's name so as to avoid paying child support. Finally my mom had him put in jail for 4 months about 2 years ago for being 26,000 in back child support. She even ask FAR below the average on 2 children for her salary. Now she doesn't bother. If he pays it he does if not he doesn't. My brother is now 18, and I'm 16 ( and the only one living with her now ) so it's works out just fine.

Well, let me rephrase. It's not his wife, and this is the exact reason I assume. They've been together 6 years and haven't married yet. Of course that could be the fact that he doesn't want to get fucked over again, but hey it happens to the best of us. My dad's a good guy, I love him, like him, and respect him. But, he's the laziest person I know. He's so lazy he wouldn't swat the flies off him. He's never supported my mom, and never helped us out. He has two little girls in a different state, and avoids paying child support on them as well. He loves us, but he's selfish, and lazy. It's how he is, and how he'll always be. He blames his mother for everything that goes wrong in his life ( she was and still is a huge bitch ), but he's a grown man and is still more immature then most people I've met. But hell, as much of a douche he's been my whole life I still claim him as my own. I'm not going to grow up like him blaming my parents for my problems.

The girls I have been with usually bitch about taking the plan B / morning after pills because they throw off their periods; I don't know how your girl would be willing to do it every time. Out of curiosity, where do you guys go to get them? We end up going to Planned Parenthood but the most they've given us at once is 2 servings. It can be a real hassle sometimes.
