In 2008, when gas prices were 10% LOWER than they are today, Obama visited Indianapolis, and gave a speech PROMISING to lower gas prices, if Elected, and blaming Bush and Cheney for Americans paying $3.55 a gallon, the price on the sign behind him, for it.

I remember him BLASTING Bush for high gas prices and making tons of promises of lower gas... So why is it not that he is saying the president has no control over gas prices? Now I am smart enough to know that it has to do with supply and demand. The market and ect, but if that is the case wouldn't an educated fella like Obama have known this and not play off the ignorance of America and make that promise. I mean this is a man we are trusting to run our country. Why would he lie to us and a false ray of hope. I remember fired up Americans chanting Hope, Change, Hope, Change... What hope do we have President that does not even take the debates serious enough. If he runs this country as serious as the debates no wonder why our country has failing.

President Hoover was huge into gov't spending. Thought that was the way to handle things, felt the gov't needed more control, to help the people. Shortly after that we feel into the great depression. I fear that we have yet to see the worst to come if Obama is re-elected.

The only way the president can effect gas prices is if he or she can find a way to create more supply and make the free market more competitive. Well they can also lower the tax with fuel, and all the government regulations on fuel which would lower the price. But he can not lower the price per barrel. Which still confirms my point Obama is full of shit.

One year he promises to lower gas and the next year when nothing is changed he says the president has no regulation on fuel costs.

At the most Keystone would add no more than 700,000 barrels a day to more than 90 million barrels produced a day worldwide.

It's more complex than just a oil supply issue and government regulations.
The days of cheap oil supply and cheap gasoline are probably over.
Refinery capacity has a great deal to do with the price of gasoline.
The price of the dollar, FED QE and speculation in the oil futures free markets have a great deal to do with it as well.

Any products from Keystone are intended for Asia. All it does is give the oil company a tax break because they will be exporting through a port that allows either lower tax or no tax exporting.

try serving in the military for 10 years active and serving in the reserves. I am part of the ag counsel in my local community. I meet with our local political officials quarterly to go over important ag issues. So not doing my part you can now stop crying about my threads.
