:) Hi real new at this I am a little overweight and very unfit generally because I eat shockingly because of my lifestyle and don't exercise apart from the obvios any ideas on how to change my diet without losing the convenience factor or the least of the junk food evils?

Hi! Welcome to IM! :hello:

Why don't you tell us a bit about yourself...age & stats, goals, what your activity & diet is like.....but, if you truly want to get healthy, you will have to make changes! No one is going to suggest you eat junk food, except maybe as an very occasional treat....but you do get used to it :D

Heres an idea I'm trying to improve my diet. I'm not over weight or anything. I'm lucky in that I can eat lots and not gain any weight.
I often like to take quick unhealthy snacks. So I try and make healthy small snacks the day before so the next day when I feel like chocolate or salty chips I grab my healthy snacks.
Also when I'm home instead of a pack of chips I have a tin of fruit.
And never take the easy way out. Because What you put in is what you get out.

If you are not overweight I dont think you need to worry, but maybe I am wrong, I am told one day it all reflects... how old are you? If you are very young it will eventually suddenly show when you grow up (I may be wrong here)!

You should eat healthy regardless of whether you are overweight or not! Just because one "looks good" is not an excuse to eat like crap :D

Agreed! Whenever I think of putting something in my mouth that is loaded with fat or unhealthy, I think of a quote I found in one of my dietetics books...

"Do I want what I eat today to be a part of my body tomorrow?"

Every bit of food you put in your mouth affects your body in the future. If you think of it that way, maybe you'll put down the salty foods next time. Weight has nothing to do with it. Would you put bad gas in your car?
