I know that in order to lose weight, one must burn more calories in a day than intake.....I was just curious, how many calories are burnt in a normal day doing normal activies? How about in 45 minutes of lifting? Does anybody have any good tips on losing weight or any good diets?

Difficult to say how many calories you expend during the day and in 45 minutes of lifting because there are many variables involved making the numbers different for each person. However,in general, one should stick to a diet of lean proteins like fish, egg whites, turkey, chicken, buffalo, and protein powders with moderate amounts of good carbs like brown rice, sweet potatoes, and oatmeal.Eat plenty of veggies, esp greens, and drink alot of water.Train intensely with weights at least 3 times per week and do 30-45 minutes of cardio on opposite days, preferably on an empty stomach.Good luck.

You are correct, your caloric expedenture must be higher than your caloric intake. It takes 3500 calories to burn one pound. So, that is a good basis to start with...

Here is a site that can help you figure out your BMR/AMR to get an idea of how many calories you should be consuming.
