i thought i was a hardgainer because of my ectomorphic body type but ive managed to gain 6.5 pounds in just about 5 weeks .. working out twice aweek , lifting heavy , and eating 5-9 meals aday ... but my stomach is getting bigger than my other body parts at a much faster rate .. what should i do ???

ps. i gained just about 1.5 pounds a week so far

Even if you're a hard gainer, if you're only training 2x/ week but eating for a heavy bulker every day, you might not be efficiently using all of this new fuel you've added to your diet.

Can you add 1-2 more days of lifting or activity, or scale back your intake - Calories in vs Calories out is pretty much what you're looking at.

i may be able to fit in 1 more day .. but i like twice aweek .. im fully rested n im actually passing up weights i was doing for months .. with the starting strength program i burnt out .. and when i was doing stronglifts 5x5 program i burnt out as well .. so if anything i'd do a push pull split

and i dnt have a set diet , i make sure i eat 6-8 meals a day n i write everything i eat down n my workout is

day1:
s.l.d
squat
pulldowns
barbell curls

day2:
bench press
dips
military press
abs

and i dnt have a set diet

That could be part of your problem. I like having a set diet even though I don't follow it strictly - you still need some type of guideline.

If you are eating 5 to 9 meals a day, and only lifting 2x a week, your gonna gain unwanted fat. If I was giving advice to a client I would advise cutting down to 5 small to med small meals a day, and training at least 3 days a week. In my opinion I would train 4 to 5 days a week. You have 24 hours a in a day, I work 10 hrs a day, and still find time to train 5 to 6 days a week. You can do things at your home. I do understand some people just simply do not have time. If you dont have the time, you really need to cut your food intake. just my opinion.

i understand.. i would workout 3 times aweek but i just started college .. and im starting my job wednesday and i work the weekends . so ill see where i can fit another day in or ill add excersises n sets

yup, i like to always have a guideline as well... but if gaining is the current goal with a guideline then i will give myself a little more lee way... however if i feel the fat gain is too much i will clean it up for a while.

Yeah, exactly. If I am trying to bulk up I don't add that much. I usually make up for the caloric excess in cheat meals, but it depends. I gained way too much on my last bulk.
