What would you guys recommend for me to improve my overall flexibility alot?

I'm a stretching n00b.

same here, i only know a few basic stretches for certain body parts but i want to go to the fullest potential to really stretch out my muscles after i am done with my workouts.

But I know some people are crazy flexible... and I've NEVER been very flexible. Waist down is worst for me. I stretch some on regular basis, but not with any huge noticeable improvements.

How do you guys recommend? I just need info like what stretches, sets, secs to hold, etc... i'm a n00b!

Id say stretch for about 20-30 seconds... You could google some good stretches to do, and stretch as soon as you're COMPLETELY done working a muscle group, not before, not during.

How many seconds/sets for each stretch?

Why don't you take a few yoga classes, I did 4 years ago and it was amazing. I had always thought it was for women or hippies, I sure was wrong!

you want to hold a stretch for about 30 seconds. every day i stretch all of my body parts with hurdlers, toe touches, quad stretches, etc etc and then once ive gone though all my muscles, i do it again. and then i meditate. and its total relaxation. oh ya, it will take a month or two before you actually start to get more flexable. just keep doing it daily.

I don't typically do actual stretches, so to speak, but since I've started lifting I've become much, much more flexible. I think just doing the workouts with proper form has helped a lot. Things like SLDLs give you a good stretch in the hamstrings, and you can really feel your quads stretch on full squats, too. The only stretching I do is after my workouts, and only when I remember to do it.
