Another thing you gotta look at is the flex of the club. A heavier club will flex more if the weight is at the head. I used to golf and the same principle holds true of graphite clubs, the material is more flexible so the graphite club will flex more at a given speed. This translates into a completely different swing. I had graphite clubs and had to sell them because they flexed too much since I am a hit the hell out of the ball kind of guy. So you would basically need to find a club that is heavier and has the same flex at all given speeds, prolly not doable.

Yeah, our coordination is very much dependant on specific learning patterns...the slightest change totally f's you up. For example, I play a video game callled Beatmania that has 5 keys and a turntable. I am somewhat of an expert in it in the arcades: I have the exact same game for my computer, the key placement is off by the total sum of maybe 2 inches and I can't get much past basic levels.

Are you suggesting that strength and speed don't have a correlation? All things equal, if strength increases, power capacity increases: if strength decreases, power capacity decreases. If a golfer has perfect form and a perfect swing, the only thing that needs to be improved is strength. So practice the swing and work to improve your strength, but to them as different functinos. You need to re-evaluate your logic.

well in my personal experience when i was around 185lbs i could hit a golf ball around 290-310 yds on avg and after i put on 20lbs from hittin the gym my swing went to shit because my flexability was lower and the club wasnt goin as fast.
i do agree that both aspects must be trained equally to get the greatest gains. but sticking to rom in the swing is more imortant then being super powerful

Strength without flexibility is like having a condom and no dick, it just doesn't make sense. :)

True story, but if you have a condom, you would like to own a dick to put in it.
