So, I'm sick of my abs. I just started doing more intense workout for them. Every other day I hit them. I'm hoping it will work. I just don't have any strength or anything really there. I have some fat or skin, I dunno. The guy at the gym says it's just skin from when I used to be a chubby guy. I'm so thin now. Here's what I do usually:

Machine crunches, seated - 3 x 15-25 w/ 80lbs resistence

Hanging knee raises; held in place for 30-45 seconds 3 sets

Swiss ball crunches (for obliques as well) 3 x 20 and for obliques - 3-15

then I do standing side bends 80 reps. and then standing twists for 80 reps.

sometimes I throw in some cable crunches with 30-40lbs weight for 15 reps 3 sets.

Is this any good? I saw most of these in some muscle mags. Should I stick with it? Who here has good, kick ass abs, and how did YOU get them? ADVICE PLEASE! thanks
:(

Bottom line is, as many people here will tell you, you will not begin to see your ab development until you significatly lower your bodyfat level. This is mostly done through proper diet (about 70% of the job), hard workouts and proper rest and recovery.

If you are skinny already, as you indicate, you likely need to increase your muscle mass in the ab area. To accomplish this you need to work your muscles to extreme fatigue, not just go through the motions with them. If your routine is not making your abs sore (and if they are, rest them properly) then you need to increase your intensity and/or resistance until they are getting worked properly.

I usually tell people if you can do 80 reps of any ab exercise and you're not feeling it a lot, then you're not doing it properly.

Anyone else have any comments?

Abs are made in the kitchen not the gym.

why wont you try to do crunches w/o machine on a slant board or on the floor.. just get your shoulders of the floor and do it very slowly until your abs will hurt so much you cant continue anymore.. do a 15 secs break and start again
i usually do 5sets x 20-25reps and my abs feel like frozen :D
