is 2L of milk to much a day for a 16 year old/? and if i was having ot much milk, is there a chance it affects your legs by making htem feel weird like?

i drink about that, its not bad for you, once i drank a gallon that was a mistake. i had the burning shizzies, it sucked.

it won't make your legs feel weird.

Growing up...in my teenage years I always drank btween 1 and 2L of skim milk a day. IMO...nothing wrong with it...your young and growing....a lot of the topics discussed on this board do and should not apply to someone 16 years old.

up until about a year ago id drink about a gallon a day of skim a day. not because i thought it was healthy or anything, but just because i loved the taste of it. lol :D

never had any bad side effects from it

Hey, i've heard milk is one of the best places to get calcium. For someone who's gone from drinking about a gallon of milk a day, to now attempting to drink no milk a day... i'm a little concerned. What other foods are good sources of calcium?

why are you cutting out milk.....?

I agree that it is high in carbs (sugar) but it all depends on your goals....what are you trying to accomplish?

If you're young and looking to add size I wouldn't stop drinking milk.

As for other foods high in calcium:

Tofu, sesame seeds, yogurt, cheese, cottage cheese, turnip greens, broccoli, and as mentionned...milk

One of the problems with getting calcium from food sources other than milk is the fact that milk is very high in vitamin D which dramatically enhances absorption.

Well... im currently 6'5" 210lbs. 19 years old. I've been weight training for about 8 months (have trained previously, but went on hiatus for a while).

Goals are to tone up... id like to see my abs before im 20.

I decided to lay off milk after everyone was telling me sugar was the devil. I guess a little is ok then...?

Bleh, nutrionally confused... as usual.

If ya feel like it, check out my journal, id appreciate any input! :)

I would keep a couple glasses in your diet...just stay away from 2L per day...maybe think about skin too instead of 2%.

What is your current diet plan and training schedule...could you paste it in this thread so I can comment??
