Hey hey,

Been a member for years, but haven't posted in ages (or added new pics, yeesh the ones I have up are old... though not bad, heh).

Couldn't find an exact answer after searching, so here it is:

Male, wishing to maintain body weight, how many grams of carbs per pound of bodyweight is appropriate? I've seen a few posts/stickies with ratios and the like, but no "X carbs per pound" equation anywhere. Out of curiosity, what about bulk/cut carb/weight ration?

I'm SURE I used to know the answer to these questions, but I seem to have forgotten the ratio... rather embarassing. I eat quite cleanly (one cheat meal per week, but nothing excessive) but I wanted to 're-evaluate' my diet, mostly out of curiosity.

Thanks for the hand!

There is no exact answer as to how many carbs you require.

Here is a suggestions

1g of protein per lb of LBM

Get your adequate fat intake.

Then use carbs to fill in the rest of your caloric requirements to maintain weight.

Righto, pretty much the system I've actually been running on for all the years since I started coming to this site (2003!). I was wondering if there was some sort of more carb-specific guideline, because I've always known of the protein/pound ratio, and assumed there'd be one for carbs too.

Thanks :)
