grip strength

I heard putting effort into your post helps your fingers become stronger which leads to better gripping power.

why would you do it all day?

i mean like carry it with me and squeeze it when im not doing anyhting like in school or on a bus

again, why would you do that all day?

our finger flexors get lots of work all day (like our calves) and those muscles typically are absued to shit by us (like our calves).

I think you should buy a book and read that when you aren't doing anything.

i also need to improve my grip. i find when i am doing deadlifts and pull/chin ups, my grip starts given out. i think that your grip depends on your forarm strenght (or are they the same thing). so for this reason are you meant to train the forarms the same way you would train any other muscle and try to stay in the 8-12 reps range. right now i have a gripper (which i think builds the forarms) which i can do about 30-50 reps with, but if you are meant to train your forarms and grip like any other muscle then do i need to get a gripper that i can only do 8-12 reps with. some how i cant imagen someone only doing 8-12 reps with and gripper, i would imagen someone sitting there maybe waching TV doing maybe 50 reps.

So my question is to strenghen my grip do i need a gripper were i can do 30-50 reps or one were i can only do 8-12. thanks in advance.

just throu in a set of wrist curls at the end of ur pull day and u shud be okay.

I did write something about this a few weeks ago, if i can find it ill post it.

this is what i am thinking of doing, tell me what you think.

Getting a gripper were i can do 8-12 reps and doing maybe 3-5 sets after my pull workouts.

What do you think, will this increase my grip and forarm strenght.

allso i am just curious about something can any of you crush a full can of coke, or do you know anyone who can. i would love to be able to do that some day, just to show off to people guess. thanks in advance.

wont it be expensive constanly buyinh new grippers?

Im sure you could save up in the time it takes you to progress from one to the next.

Besides, like func said - theyre not the only thing you can use to train your grip.

you are right, so i will proabley get one which i can do maybe 5 reps to start with and keep it until i can do maybe 15-20 reps. this way it will be quiet some time befor i have to buy the next one.

I think Mudge can crush a coke can.

thats so cool. i seen grippers on the internet which take different amounts of preasure to close, i.e. 100lbs, 150lbs, 200lbs ect...

i was just wondering if mudge has a gripper how much preasure does it take to close, he must be able to do alot if he can crush a full coke can.

I think Mudge put up a video of that coke can thing before.

Apparently, if you can close the IronMind #3 gripper, you can crush a raw potato. I would assume its around that area where you can crush a can. The IronMind #3 is 295lbs (i think).

ive just got into deadlifts and i can tell that my grip needs some work. i know that i should start off with a light gripper and move up but i think buying new grippers all the time is a bit much. are thier any adjustable ones or do people sell thier used ones somewhere. i mean surely thier must be alot of the first level ones laying around. i would also like to buy locally since i dont know what "level" i should go for off the bat.
what do you think about this adjustable one?

You could try doing the farmers walk with d'bells. I worked up to the 125s for carries of about 30yds x 4 carries. Going to try them again & shoot for the 150s (biggest in my gym). You might try static holds with a barbell & go for time.
