Most of us did because it's common sense. I also always wondered why the seat cushion acted as a flotation device but not a parachute,it's not a boat... When I was on deployment I watched a helicopter drop straight out of the sky killing the 3 sailors aboard and wondered why they couldn't make the tail rotor shaft covers able to flare out and act as wings so a pilot could glide to safety or maybe the main rotors could halt and droop down allowing a parachute to deploy just aft of the rotor hub...I thought of that invention when I was 10
