So I'm curious if anyone has had any experience with this: the husband broke his scaphoid bone about a year, year and a half back roughly. Weeks and weeks and it wouldn't heal correctly, then he finally had surgery for it after several months without any healing. There's a screw in there still, the doc would prefer to take it out but it's 6 of one half dozen of the other - the bone is fused, but Mike still gets pain most of the time from it. I suspect the doc's thoughts that the screw may be brushing up against some nerves.

The question is how to work out with this type of injury: he can't do pushups in the regular flat hand position, he can do them on his knuckles. Motion is somewhat restricted (although not as bad as it was), he can't bend it back to do motions like bench presses. He's been told he probably won't ever regain full motion and he might always have pain, which MAY be the screw but might not.

Any suggestions appreciated. He's about 24% bodyfat ATM, stocky build, put on muscle pretty fast. Military, so he's in decent shape for 40.
