actually how it went today is a conversation with the medical director of said facility saying he doesn't give a shit if people smoke pot either... that he has no problem with it. prescription written, no test.

i got all huffy with my dr over the piss test crap then when she casually asked me at an appt if i did any street drugs since our last appt i thought, "wtf???? people aren't going to just TELL you"
i just think they should be required to have more than just some policy to violate a person's rights. you should have to act suspicious or "lose" your meds or something. i suspect the ACA is going to offer up a lot of issues people are going to have to get vocal on. a lot of workers do not know it's illegal to test them without cause.

About 10 years ago I asked my manager if I could piss test some guy I supervised. She said no. I asked why. She said because then they will piss test everyone including us and you can fire whoever you want anyway. I thought that was a pretty good response. a few days later I terminated 3 guys for not doing their jobs. Never have piss tested anyone since. Now I'm the manager of the whole company. No one will ever be piss tested under me.
i don't even smoke pot but it's horseshit for doctors to have any right to search me to find out. especially when 9 out of 10 really don't care if you do it. you can buy fake piss anyway. the tests rarely catch anyone that can rub two brain cells together and isn't being watched when they pee. it's the principle of the thing. if it feels unamerican someone needs to be having a damned fit till it's changed.
Haha, one day I was supervising these guys and one of them dropped a 30 foot ladder on his head while trying to take it down off the side of a building. He was bleeding bad but holding his head to try to conceal it. Blood was coming out from between his fingers and I told him he had to go the hospital. He knew they would piss test him for being injured on the job so he kept repeating over and over that he was OK. He went home and came back the next day with stitches in his head. He refused the workers comp doc and signed a waiver saying he was fine.
when i was a hostess at an italian restaurant i was in charge of all the busboys n girls n dishwashers etc. i had to bitch out a new girl once... was told to. i hated it. she was young, new, and a sweetheart. afterwards i helped her whenever i could and gave her clothes etc for work. had a lot of different jobs but don't think i ever ran into anyone that couldn't handle a days work after a night partying.
lol. i think people should start a youtube protest about urine tests. i worked in a saw mill in ellsworth. very dangerous jobs and we partied a lot off work. even went picking mushrooms in this field there. i know a lot of hardworking men completely capable of doing their jobs during the day and using recreational drugs on weekends smoking dope all week.
the hardest people to work with and depend on aren't the stoners it's the assholes.
