I have been diagnosed with low Testosterone.

I have been taking HCG in a cycle of 1000 IU two times a week. I inject myself subcutaneously (not intramuscular). An HCG cycle of 6 weeks on, 2 weeks off of the HCG. Is this too high/frequent?

My doctor doesn't seem to be an expert and I'm nervous this is too high.

He also wants me to take 25 mg DHEA daily and 25 mg pregnenolone daily.

I'm pretty nervous and don't want to screw up my body permanently.

Please help.

So does hCG also increase your testosterone level if it is low? I am looking into hcg for some weight loss but that would be good if it did this too.

+1 Dose is good. HCG is suppressive. HCG does nothing for weight loss....it's a BS scam (the HCG diet).

It don't believe it raises testosterone or promotes fat loss. I believe the hcg diet was a fad diet that was bs. If you're interested in upping your testosterone then go to the doc. If you're old enough and your T levels are suffering I don't see why he wouldn't put you on trt. Of course theres other means of getting ahold of test.

Just curious, but why are so many people losing weight on it then? The idea is that supposedly it allows you to live off the stored fat for about 30 days without feeling like you are starving yourself. I'm not talking about the generic hcg wanna-be stuff you pick up at the store nowadays, I'm talking about the real thing you receive in a vial and constitute with water.

If you're injecting HCG it there is no doubt it raises Testosterone. I'm not sure if oral dosage on the HCG diet raises T or not. I'm not on T because I'd like kids someday. Hence my doctor said HCG.

The HCG does noticeably lower my appetite. I think the reason the diet works is because it the HCG lowers appetite and you eat 500 calories a day. I don't think it's healthy to eat that few calories.

500 cals a day is the catch. ANYONE can loose mass amounts of weight with 500 cals a day, you don't need HCG to do that.

You will know if it is too high. At least I do because if it is too high for me I start to get some pain or discomfort in one of my nuts or both of them. Thats when I know I need to dial it down a bit.

your smart on the kid tip. 4 months of serious medication and still sterile as a mofu, "T" will defanitly shut ya down if your on it long enough.

Well that's the idea with hCG to lose weight - i totally agree that people are losing weight on it because they are dropping down to 500 cals a day. Even a thin person would probably lose some ounes doing that. but with hCG, it reduces/eliminates the aggravating hunger pains that most people cave into, thus without hCG it is not likely that anyone could live on 500 cals a day without being totally miserable.
Anyway. I got the hCG and am going to start today or tomorrow and will keep this thread posted, perhaps in 30 days or so. I am a very scientific minded person and do not fall for BS scams, but I did alot of research on this and find that it really is working in some people. I dont believe in the crap you can get off the shelf though.

Are you really going to run 500 cals a day??

500 cal per day? , LOL.... your body will eat your muscle tissue bro. You will look like Slim Shady,

haha no, actually the HCG puts the abnormal fat into circulation, so you are then running off the 500 plus your available abnormal fat (not the "normal" fat). I have read this can equate to ~3000 cals/day. Once the abnormal fat is depleted, you will feel excessively hungry because there's nothing left to use (then yes you start getting into muscle). But at that point, you are basically ready to wean off the 500 cal and eat normally.

LOL.... enough said bro. I have read alot of shit over the years and not much of it pans out bro. Take it or leave it.

Just because something is read doesn't justify laughing it off. Everything we know in life is either what we read or observed firsthand. I read that ex-lax relieves constipation, and I'll be damned it does. I read Viagra helps with erections, and yep it does that. I'll be the first one to call BS on this hcg "diet" if it doesnt work, but we shall see in 30 days.

The hcg diet works, because youre eating 500 cals. Hcg is only an analog of the LH hormone which is responsible for telling your testes to produce testosterone, it has nothing to do fat circulation. Not even close.

Sure...but it depends on where you are reading your material from. There was a recent NY Times article that called the diet BS and to avoid it at all costs. There is also a nice write up by Ellisa Lowe who made some very good observations.

But you know what? How much water does the NY Times hold? What could their writers possibly know?

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/03/08/nyregion/08hcg.html?_r=3&ref=health

And if you really don't like the Times, how about a few words from the guys over at the Mayo Clinic? Does anything they say mean much? You be the judge...read the write up.

HCG diet: Is it safe and effective? - MayoClinic.com

And lastly, if the Mayo Clinic can't get it right....we can also refer to a real MD. Check out what Dr. Gonzalez has to say about the diet....

Is This the Right Room for an Argument?

In science- and evidence-based medicine, anecdotes are indeed the raw material from which we as medical scientists derive hypotheses, and “anecdotes” are published all the time in the medical literature. They’re called “case reports.” We do not dismiss them out of hand just because they are “anecdotes.” When appropriate, we dismiss “anecdotes” because frequently they are “testimonials” and not controlled observations or because anecdotes themselves, even when the observations are controlled, are often deceiving, which is why further study in the form of more controlled trials is always necessary before science-based medicine will accept a claim. Anecdotes are not enough…

There are literally many studies disproving the HCG diet. You might want to go on Pubmed and read them.

To me any thing with only 500 cals jus sounds crazy, I jus dont understand how a doctor would direct a person to so , and the worst part most patients are older women.

If a doctor prescribed a diet like that to ANY patient, I would advice them to turn around and walk out :owned:
