Heavy Bag?

THe first bag goodfella posted looks like a nice setup

DB, the 1 you posted I would not get simply because your very constricted for space on the heavy bag and cant do much footwork

Yeah, the one GF posted looks a little more "open" than that other model.

Just researching prices atm, lol.

Do you have anything set up?

I have a Muay thai bag with a sand bottom in my basement that I use solely for kicks

ALso have a everlast heavy bag hanging in my basement. I'm looking to buy a speed bag soon

IMO I wouldnt be throwing kicks at a heavy bag... don't feel too good. Not that I've tried it or anything

Same here. Let me know if you find a high quality one for a good deal. I've been looking at one of the Everlast pro models but it's like $499.99 and I honestly don't want to spend that much on one. I bought one of those 40 dollar ones at the sporting goods store but it had terrible rebound and was really shaky.

Yeah, im thinking ill probably just use the heavy bag for punching seeing what a bitch this kicking is turning out to be. Im either gonna kick a wall, a frame, or the bag - all of which will hurt :P

Screw it. Ill use Thai Pads for kicking.

Sound like a good basement you've got there though! :) the thai bags are the really long thinish ones, right?

Back when I did Muy Thai, the bags were long and they had a concrete weight at the bottom to reduce swing.

Jeez that would suck hitting your shin on that.

I think they've moved away from that and started incorporating "double end heavybags" more. Basically it hangs like a regular heavy bag and then is secured at the bottom as well by a bracket and chain:
