Hello,

I would say that I'm still a beginner in terms of my strength, but I've been reading about weight training for a long time. I've had good luck with programs involving sets of 5 reps, which I discovered about a year ago. That style of training really changed my view on weight training. If I train with high reps, I find that I just get weaker.

I am more inspired by powerlifters like Louie Simmons than I am by bodybuilders. I hope to learn interesting things about training here anyway.

My favorite old-school bodybuilder is Franco Columbu because he was one strong SOB!

I like 10-20 reps for lower body and 1-5 reps for upper. Welcome to the board.

Thanks for the welcomes!

After poking around a bit here, what I like most is how all types of training programs from bodybuilding to powerlifting are discussed here in an honest way. In the past, I posted on some forums which had strong biases for certain methods and that limited the discussion a lot.

Welcome, try not to bother yourself with reps or sets. Just left till it hurts

Welcome. I like low reps too. Give drop sets a try, I do a set of five drop a plate and continue with as little rest as possible.
