you won't get trim (lose body fat) from resistance training,and you certainly won't accomplicsh that from some pushups. Pushups are useless my friend. The only reason that you may have seen anything form them in teh beginning is b/c your body has never seen any type of resistance placed on it. It has since adapted to teh very minimal stress induced from a pushup and you need to step it up. You need ot train with weights to get the proper resistance to induce hypertrophy. As far as losing the fat that is your diet and possibly cardio, not weight trianing generally. It is not possibel to spot reduce fat in a certain area by training that area, as jim said.
