Hey I just joined and I find all the information on here extrememly useful, I'm dying to get lean and cut... Im 5'7 and 130lbs but I dont know what kind of diet to use or anything!!

Can anyone give me some advice?

what ever you choose be smart and consistent, i personally lower calories and up protein and let my muscles burn off the fat!
i got lean in a month and gained muscle as well!

I'd think at 5'7" tall and 130 lbs you would already be lean. Post a couple of pic's so we can evalute what you need to do.

Well, we need some more information about you first -
how old are you?
how long have you been training?
What are you eating now?

Also, 130 and 5'7 is a perfectly reasonable weight (for a female... for a male it is very skinny!) - so what exactly do you want to achieve?

In terms of what to eat - you should check out Jodi's thread "A guide..." at the top of the forum! It is a gread place to start!

being light doesnt mean your lean. many people are skinny but dont have any definiton. what i think is, he needs to add some muscles to burn off the layer of fat.

Your kidding of coarse. At 5'7" and 130 lbs, I think he'd have to be 90 years old to be carrying a lot of fat. Probably has a little baby fat around his tummy and figures he's fat.
Just start lifting and give emma some info and if your lucky, She might help you out with a diet.

trust me ive seen people that are skinny but have no definition at all. i dont mean to say that they have a belly or anything. i saying that they are not lean, with cuts and all.

good way to start is to plan out your meals. decide on a ratio, i like 30 60 10 sometimes 30, 50, 20, depending on my day. i eat about 3 meals and 4 snacks a day. i like to keep my meals at around 30g of protein, 70grams of carbs. snacks are around 15 and 25. make sure to adjust the ratio depending on your weight. at your weight, u should get around 130 grams of protein and 260-300grams of carbs. adjust here and there to gain or maintain weight. much of what i have here, i got from Gregg Avedons site.

5 7 and 130lbs? sounds skinny to me, unless u a chick

130lb's @ 5' 7" is hellafied small.

I'm 5' 10" and I'm 180 lbs. ..

I know many people who are that weight. When I wrestled I was 5'7 120 and was muscular. These are just skinny people. You're already "lean", if you want to gain muscle and stay lean and cut. Eat healthy, eat protein, and take supplemental protein. You'll bulk up in no time. I did.

hey chex, not to sound rude, but at 120lbs even at that height, you weren't muscular. You were probably just very lean and looked very defined.
