Help me with my workout, NEWBIE

ok guys, i started working out 2 months ago and this has been my routine for the last month, the first month i was doing tons of cardio, ive since cut down


day 1:
pushups 4 sets of 10 regular and 10 wide
in between pushups i do:
curls 4 sets of 10

dips 4 sets of 10
in between dips i do:
shrugs 4 sets of 10 (on 4th i do a "farmers walk" till failure"

day 2:

skullcrushers? (tricep) 4 sets of 10
in between skullcrushers i do:
situps 4 sets of 10 full, 10 crunches and 10 leg raises
shrugs 4 sets of 10

day 3 off

day 4: same as 1
day 5: same as 2

day 6: 30 minute HIT cardio

day 7: same as 1

and i start over


all i have at my disposal are 15lb dumbells, im about to put up a chinup bar and do those on day 2's. Can anyone help out with other exersises i could be doing. Or refine what im doing already.

i have gotten slightly bigger, but mainly more defined, ive lost 10 lbs in 2 months and im pretty sure its mostly fat.

i take 5g of Creatine every morning before workout, and protein shake afterwards.

The effectiveness of your workout is going to bottom off fast if you don't get some higher weight in there.
 
i could buy new dumbells... thats kind of why i posted, to see what i needed to do, cause ive noticed that the morning after soreness has kind of tapered off lately.

what should i jump up to.. 25?
 
You'd probably be better off using your money for a gym, that way you can have a variety of weights/poundages/machines. If you're going to continue to work out and want to keep growing you're going to continually need heavier weight.
 
I did several push-ups like in army before i start attending university.
I never had a decent chest by push-ups:headbang:
 
i see, well looks like ill just keep up with what im doing now untill im financially able to join a gym. thanks guys

slight bump for a followup question.

my above stated routine, would that be ok for toning, i should have mentioned earlier but my current goals are not to get much bigger, but to tone.

there is no real way to train for "toning" (god I hate that word).......How cut you get is going to mainly depend on your diet.

exactly prince, i guess im cutting, ive gone through the diet and nutrition forums and have a pretty nicely outlined diet. I want definition, but not large size.

im just assuming less weight, increased reps.

my only concern is that ive lost 10lbs in the last month and a half (roughly) and im pretty sure thats cause of all the cardio i was doing, but at 6ft tall, i dont want to keep losing weight.

Im eating protein in every meal, i have a post workout shake, im taking creatine, and the only carbs im taking in are complex. and yah, of course, no sugar.

Is the only way ill be able to put on muscle weight is buy increasing size? or will the endurance fibers that im working out mainly increase my weight?

If you do go and bu new dumbells i would suggest something like this

so as you progress youll already have enough weight(they go up to 40lbs)
 
cool man, thanks.. ill look for something like that, if its not expensive im on it. if it is.. i think ill save for a gym membership

You can always buy a bench and a set of weights. It shouldn't set you back too much.
 
dragon btw the bumbell set is $40 at Dicks Sporting goods/sports authority. Just look fo them at your local sporting good store, they should definitely carry them
