hey there i'm currently eating around 2400 cals a day which is way over my 15 - 18 cals per pound of body weight but hey that seems to be what is needed to get me gaining.

Two things i was wondering if you could help with..

Firstly my gut is giving me no-end of trouble, i suspect it's the amount of protien that causing the problem more than a specific food source as when i ease up on the protien it get's much better. Obviously i don't want to ease up on the protien because i want to gain muscle has anyone else had this problem when consuming alot protien? did you find out a way around it?

Secondly

im really strugging, im a business woman and i spend alot of time in meetings or being bogged down with work and somehow more often than not i end up having a day go by where i've not eaten anywhere near the required amount... granted im getting good at craming in the cal's before bed but it's not really the "aim"

I can eat on the run, between meetings and even during the odd meeting but i need protable food idea's the tradition "on the run" type foods tend to be less than ideal, low in protien or high in suger. Im just looking for simple high protien ideas that don't require heating or cutlary (though i might manage a spoon) basically anything i can eat at my desk, or during a meeting without drawning to much attention to myself or having to faff around before its ready to eat.

I was having some digestion problem with some house brand whey I bought at GNC. I switched to high quality better priced brands and no more problems.

I spend allot of time on the road myself and snack on these when i have to:

Milk + whey + olive oil = your friend.

Hell if you want, mix it up before your meetings and pour a bit into a mug to sip on. People will think it's hot chocolate.

I have similar problems with heavy protein intake. I really haven't found a way to deal with it. Some protein powders cause more problems than others, but even with strictly whole food meals, I have problems. Sorry I can't help you there. We're practically force feeding ourselves and some of us can handle it better than others.

As for food on the run. Try getting a Bento Box. You can put whatever kind of food you want in there and it keeps it warm for hours without reheating. I'll either put a whole grain pasta with diced chicken or diced steak and yams....whatever. It has multiple small containers so you can use it for mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks. I dice the meat so I can fit more into the small containers.

just do a search for Bento Box, and you should get plenty of results. They're a little pricey for the good ones, but worth it if you use it daily.

If you're consuming regular whey some of your GI distress might be from lactose. You could try a whey isolate.
My favorite on the go food is turkey jerkey and cashews. It's got plenty of protein, good fats, and carbs.
