Hi, I'm a female endurance athlete in Canada, and I'm on here to learn about maintaining my lean mass while losing some weight during my off-season (which is about November-March). I'd like to gain strength, as well, so this will be my first year of adding some lifting into my winter routine.
I'm currently 151 pounds, 22% body fat (just had a DEXA scan... kind of fun!). Ideally, I'd like to get my body fat down to about 15%, but I'd be thrilled meet my winter goal to lose 10 (fat) pounds.
My inspiration is a naturally thin teammate of mine who is at 9%. We have some very similar performance numbers otherwise, so it seems like biggest thing standing between my mediocre finish times and winning like she does is the 33 pounds of fat I carry around, versus the mere 11 pounds she does!
