Home gym equipment opinions requested...

Hi guys. I wanted to ask your opinion on something. My wife and i belong to a local gym and pay $79.95 a month for membership. With our job situations its been difficult to get to the gym lately and we were thinking of giving up our membership and investing in some home gym equipment. I went to a local fitness equipment dealer and found something that i like and wanted to get your opinions on it. It is the Parabody Rack System. I like the fact that its freeweights but self spotting. I also am intersted in getting the high/low pully attachment. I would have to buy the following equipment (prices also shown):

- Parabody Rack System: $499.00
- High/low pully attachement: $279.00
- Olympic Bench (Flat/Incline): $200.00
- 300lb Olympic Weight set: $169.00
- Delivery and Assembly: $135.00
TOTAL: $1282.00 plus tax

Does this seem like a good price for the equipment? Is Parabody quality stuff? I hear that they are part of Lifefitness. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys.

Personally, I have never heard of that equipment, so without seeing it I cannot give much of an opinion.

I will say that having a home gym, providing that it's adequately equipped, is a great idea, I have one! However, it does not replace a gym completely, at least not for me. I still go to my gym at least two times per week, one for motivational reasons, and two because the gym has much more equipment that I do not have at home, e.g a leg press.

Thanks Prince. I checked out that link and they actually have a store a half hour from me. I was able to find, on thier website, very good deals on similar equipment. To show the price difference between the store i was originally looking in and Fitness Factory Warehouse. The Fitness experience hada 300lb set of Olympic weights for $169.00 and the Fitness Factory Warehouse had a set of 400lb Olympic weights for $159.00. I will be able to get a lot more there for my money, thank you for the tip.
