i've ordered them out but never made them.
my friend used to make foil pouches for the legs and put butter all over them - seal up the pouches and grill.

i don't want to use the butter.

anyone know how to cook them so they're not bad for you?

(or is it better to avoid?)

just use old bay seasoning and boil them if you want nothingextra

any idea how long you'd boil and how you know when they're done? (i've never done this before....)

thanks!

Are these live crabs or purchased from the local grocer. Crab legs (Snow Crab legs, King Crab legs, Dungeness Crab legs) come to the market as a cooked product. The recommended heating time is 4 minutes.

i'm feeling so dumb! but seriously - thanks for your help. i'd rather ask now then make a mess! when i get crab legs at red lobster i never dip them in that melted butter. i just don't really like it. but do you think the legs have been cooked in butter or anything? i'm wondering if you buy them at the grocery store (snow crab legs) and boil them for 4 minutes if they'll taste good or totally "blah". should i add a bit of oil to the water i boil them in? thanks again for your help and patience!

don't feel dumb! i asked you if they were live crabs and you live in the mojave.
you can add some crab boil or whatever seasonings you wish to the water but let them boil a few minutes before you add the crab legs. you don't need to add any oil to the water.
if you want to stay away from the butter try different dips like wasabi, soy, hotsauces, or these
