How do you cook your Steel cut oats?

I first rinse it very well under water.
I put it in the microwave for 20 minutes.
When it???s done I leave it there for another 20 minutes.
I rinse it again to keep only the grains.
Then I put it in separate container for each meal.
I normally cook it for 2 or 3 days in advance for 3 meals each day.

What do you do?
Do you think that by rinsing so much I remove some good stuff?

The taste is way different.
Try it you'll see.
Maybe because I buy it in 20kg bags it hasn't been rinsed from the mills... That's maybe why I find it different when I rinse.
 
Boil 16 oz of water, throw in 1/2 cup of steel cut oats, 2 cinnamon sticks cut off the flame cover and let sit overnite, next day cook for 15 mins over a low flame. Toss in 1 packet of splenda.. No rinsing.. :lick:

Very much so, the roof of my mouth at times gets messed up :rocker: ha, but hey it fills me up.

Im with you on that buddy. After you choke down a cup of steel oats you sure arent hungry for anything afterwards.
