How do you get abs?

have lots of sex. oh and diet well and work on your core

It's funny you say that. Lately i would say i've been in luck. I have this really attractive girl who is a freak. :D She knows i don't want a relationship, but still likes to spend time with me, if you know what i mean. :thumb:

My point, is that when we're ..... I tend to flex my abs and try to get a good workout. lol, it's so pathetic. But i assure when I'm through i feel my core being very tight. It really does work...

I've also been tightening up my mid section throughout the day. Whenever i lift something, or bend over i flex my abs. Personally, i think this is a good idea...

Also, someone PMed me and told me that 1500 calories for a man 5'7 148lbs is not enough and that i would be significantly losing muscle mass instead of fat...Do you think i should take this advice and bump up the calories, or am i ok? I gain weight eating 2400 calories a day...For some reason, it's very easy for me to gain weight and it all goes to my gut...1500 calories seems about right to me...

either one of a couple possible things are happening to make you gain weight at 2400 cal a day

either you are

laying in bed all day sleeping and consuming the majority of your cals in the form of simple carbs...

or your cheating your diet alot, and your either not counting cals, or calculating things incorrectly

i seriously doubt tht your maint is 2000 cal if you are doing ANY training at all on a regular basis

only other explanation i can come up with is that your 80years old

if thats the case, good on you

It's possible. My maintenance is around 2200-2300 cals, so I would gain weight at 2400. I'm not saying that's the case here, but it could be if he has similar genetics.

It's really not that hard to believe and i count calories amazing. EVERYTHING is measured out. I even count the almonds i eat...It's pathetic. I also eat very low carbs...No more than 50-60 a day...All early in the morning...

Here is my lunch on a typical day...Chicken breast, salad, green peppers, radishes, green peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, cottage cheese and a mixed olive oil dressing i made with red peppers, garlic, onion powder, salt, and pepper...

I only weigh 148lbs and i use to be fat...I have poor genetics, I'm still fat. (Kind of) This "skinny fat" people you think of. Yeah, that's me. Pretty much the worse genetics in my opinion, but it's easy to bulk i guess? You just get tired of having a sh*tty body, so it makes you afraid to put fat on, although from my understanding you must eat over maintenance in order to gain muscle...Sucks...

Try carb cycling. I have very similar genetics and the closest I have ever been to having abs was while I was running a carb cycling diet.

Are you suggesting to carb cycle over maintenance while i'm still lifting and doing push ups, etc...?

Also, how do you carb cycle?

if you are lifting heavy, and not going way overboard on your cals you can gain muscle without gaining fat...
i find it very ignorant that people say it is not possible

and if you are "skinny fat" and your having trouble getting lean enough for abs, maybe you should put on some muscle, maybe then you would have a better luck leaning down.

Ok, in that case i will eat around maintenance and maybe a bit more on lifting days. I'll continue to lift heavy as well...

I used to only squat 100lbs and i would be sore...Now, I'm up to 195lbs 3 sets of 10...I haven' t maxed out yet though.
