i just want to know how long everyone usually works out for and gets the best results

Usually an hour sometimes a little more if I need to do abs and or cardio as well. :)

About 45 to an hour without cardio . About an hour 30 with cardio.

Weight training is 45 - 75 minutes, depending on the body parts I'm working. Cardio workouts take three or four hours (mountain biking :D ).

I go from about 3:00pm to about 6:00pm every day, cardio included :D

Weight training is an 1:30 for majors (chest, back, legs,), Arms, Shoulders about an hour. Add cardio, takes me up to two hours.

25-45 minutes.

same. 45 - 60 for lifting...add 20 or so for cardio..

Right around 1 hour. Except when I'm running, depending what I'm doing could be 10 min could be 90 min :)

TJ

TJ has to be the coolest name ever. I commend you.

Wait, my names TJ too :D

Summer football training about 3 hours. 5 days a week includes our weightlifting workout, abs workout and the running. :D

45-60 minutes of weightlifting, and 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 of basketball almost everyday

Its tough to say. I'm usually "working out" for 2 hours, but I rarely weight train over 45 minutes (if I do its because I'm not timing my rest intervals properly)

5 minutes light cardio to warm up
20 - 30 minutes of stretching
45 minutes of weight training
20 - 30 minutes of stretching

Stretching, while key, doesn't need to make up that large of a portion of a normal trainee's workout. I require that due to the ammount of years I did not stretch at all and all of the damage I have caused myself. A general rule of thumb, however, is that stretching should take up at least 25% of the total time you are working out.

I have read that stretching before a workout actually makes you weaker.

3 hours?! that'd be waaay too long for me... i'd be so tired on hour 3 there'd be no point on me even being at the gym...

i almost always go for about an hour and a half...

5 minute warm up run... about 45-60 min on weights and 20 min of cardio... almost always works out to be about an hour and a half...

My workwout is like this: 45 minutes weights, 20 minutes cardio, 10 minutes stretching. I train 3 to 4 days per week to avoid overtraining and to fully recuperate.
