when i wake up in the morning most of the times i just couldn't eat at all ....i drink plenty of water and some times do my cardio ......sometimes i don't eat for 3 hours after waking up .....is this so bad ?? i'm not actually interested in losing muscles :D shall that make me lose mass?? what's the maximum time i should stay after waking up without eating???

First thing I do is brew some coffee, then after about 45min I start making breakfast

Yea I can't eat first thing in the morning so I grab a bottle of water and ussually come here for a few mins...then shower and its breakfast time. So maybe 30-45 minutes and its still only grits and a protein shake!

If your not going to eat something for 3 hours try and drink a small protein shake to feed the body a bit. It is in a starving state so a small amount of protein would do great!

Eat when you first wake up. Have a protein shake ready if necessary and then make some eggs and oats a few hours later. That's better than waiting 3 hours to eat.

so this could have a negative effect on my progress  .....

Your body goes 8 hours, supposing you get enough sleep, without nutrients. Putting three hours on top of that isn't going to have positive effects.

i think it also depends on the last meal before sleeping if it wasn't digested well so u won't be hungry when u wake up.....also if u have a slow digestive system probably u won't be hungry at the morning....

if your trying to get bigger and stronger, you must eat asap after waking up. After as little as 4 hours without food your body can put itself into a fasting mode where it will burn lean body mass and conserve fat. all of our bodys are different but after 8 hours without food you definately want to force yourself to eat something.
something that has worked for me in the past, is i just make my breakfast or whatever it is, then just start eating it slow. you will probably find after 5-10 minutes of picking at it you will start chowing down.

i try to force my self to eat but i'm afraid if this was worthless and what the stomach doesn't accept may be turned to fat

Me too.

If I am not hungry I eat anyways.

I've read alot of people actually wake up in the middle of the night and chug a quick shake. Its suppose to do wonders.

Just pre make your shake and leave it by the bed...set an alarm clock chug and go back to sleep!

Usually half hour to 45 minutes after I wake up.

Me to i sometimes wake up hungry 1-2 hours early lol.

Yeah you want to jump start your metabolism first thing, eat within 45 minutes of waking, it may not be easy at first, trust me I used to have a digestive disorder called "gastrial esophogal reflexes" but after I dropped weight and started eating in the morning, slowly weaning myself onto it the disorder went away, and once you get used to it your body will SCREAM for food in the morning. You just need to get your body used to it, and most people find they notice a big difference in productivity, mood, metabolism and they eat less throughout the day. Also try not to eat 2-3 hours or if you can 4 hours before bed and you will find you can eat more throughout the day without putting on weight because your body has a chance to digest it ALL before slowing your metabolism for sleep and storing it as fat.

Your body does this because it needs to spend the time you use sleeping to repair your body, cleanse the toxins, (which is only done when you are not digesting, because the same organs detox that digest and they can't do both at once) and rebuild your hormones levels for the next day. (it can't do any of this while digesting food) So try to eat something fibre-ous (or however you spell it) for dinner to make sure you stay fuller for longer as to not snack near bed time. I'm sure some of you may VIOLENTLY disagree with me, but using this has done wonders for my body, I do not have a quick metabolism and I eat like a pig and not always the best foods (until recently I started eating for proper body building) and I never put on a pound because my body has enough time even with a slow metabolism to get it all through. Digestive enzymes also help if you find it takes a long time for full digestions to take it's course!!

I've just started doing something something like this a couple weeks ago. I don't set the alarm though, but I usually wake up at least once anyways. I keep a big jug of powder, a flashlight, a glass with a spoon in it, and a bottle of water right by the bed. Makes perfect sense to me unless you have problems getting back to sleep again. Too much light will give me problems getting back to sleep which is why I use a small flashlight.

u r right......but my problem tat i am really used now to eat every 3 hours so if i stayed 4 hours without food i'll be starving and i wouuldn't sleep also i have a very light sleep anything could make me alarmed......i eat before i sleep with 1-2 hours not more or less if i slept just after eating i don't feel good also if ididn't eat i couldn't sleep and i wake up starving and sometimes couldn't complete my sleeping hours

Yeah good point, it's hard to keep full that way but I find if I load myself starting from the morning very often throughout the day and eat a high protein high fibre meal for dinner i can usually make it to bed although it takes some getting used to as well. if you find it's too hard, don't bother because it's better to keep your body happy than to make it think it's starving.

i eat 1hour before bed. Starving your body doesn't help ether so just make it some fat protein and veggies and just a small meal.

I have a shake and PB&J ready at night. Always gotta wiz in the middle of the night (it's my alarm clock). Once I'm outta the bathroom, I chow down on the sandwich and chug down the drink. I actually sleep much better when I have those snacks in the middle of the night.

I'd be very reluctant to eat any type of carbs right before bed or in the middle of the night especially bread and jelly
