Hey,

How many egg whites would make a cup of egg whites (cooked).
cause according to fitday, a cup of cooked egg white has 17protein and no fat with 81 calories which i find really good for my bulking diet.
Anyone know how many egg white is a cup?

And one last question, how many eggs/whole/white do you guys recommend a day if bulking?.

Lol sorry for that post,
I was messing with fitday and found out 5 eggs is a cup of egg whites.

But anyone have answers for my second questions about how much is good?

EDIT: A question about fiber. can anyone simply tell me why its necessary and whats so good about it or give me a link to some kind of article somewhere :D.

google.com and type fiber benfits there are tons of article

I never recommend people eat egg whites. So many people go that route to avoid cholestrol but there have been several studies that prove eating whole eggs and even increasing the amount to as much as 14 whole eggs a day doesn't adversely raise cholesterol or even change the HDL : LDL ratio.

An egg is best eaten whole because it's an entire food, all of the nutrients in any food that occurs naturally are best consumed as a whole because they all work in synergy with each other. All the nutrients in their specific amounts are more effective in their natural balance with each other.

Best way to eat eggs also is slowly heating them up because frying them in a pan with grease or butter oxidizes oil and creates a presence of hydrogenated fat.

I scramble eggs up and drink them raw 'cause it's real quick, I mean really I get 4 eggs in me in 3 minutes flat.

hold on, i thought the human body couldnt digest uncooked protien in egg whites

Would hard or soft boiling them avert this issue?
I could eat 6 hard or soft boiled eggs in a sitting easy.

Raw eggs??? Aughhhhhhhhhhhh :barf: I would get sick like a dog

What about macirowave them?Does this take away?

I don't like the yellow part much. When I fry eggs I poke them and drain all that yellow nasty shit out.

My cousin used to drink egg raw..never really saw him do it just heard a lot.

What about macirowave them?Does this take away?
Ya it does because of the microwave sends to heat up the water in the egg and also gets rid of some of the nutrients.

Sure it can. The problem with raw egg whites is a substance within that binds biotin and drastically reduces its bioavailability. Cooking the egg whites prevents this problem, so a biotin deficiency is less likely.

The substance that binds to the biotin is a protien called avidin. As I recall, it takes roughly 5 grams of biotin to saturate the amount of avidin in one egg white. Thus, eating raw egg whites can cause a biotin defficiency very quickly.

Raw egg yolks go great in protein shakes, however. Just suck it up and try it some time. It's actually pretty good.

I supplement biotin so it's not a big deal that it would be deficient in my eggs. Slow cooking your eggs in a pan is the best idea, and use a non-stick pan, this is how I do it if I'm not too lazy and will actually sit and wait for my eggs to solidify in the pan. Takes about 10 minutes as opposed to the usual frying method that takes about 2.

The slower method with a lack of added oil takes away a lot of the oxidization, so you don't have to worry about trans-fat or free radicals.

And hey if they're scrambled to the point of having an almost water-like consistency they go down so quick the taste isn't really an issue.

wait a sec.
I mix egg yolk raw with my shake and a banana in the morning. thats not considered...ugly right?.

So by slow cooking you mean exactly what you said right. Just slow down the cooking process? This makes all the difference. Please explain a little bit more if you could.

I have found that people just don't agree on certain topics and this is one of them.

Some say egg whites are great but anything else thats white is terrible for you. Then some say cottage cheese is great and egg whites don't really do much. I'm yet to see anyone agree that egg whites are bad for you, or at least not a good protein source.

Egg whites are great for you. Low calorie and high in protein.

Ok I'm stone sober and its 7am and I still don't get what the picture was supposed to represent. It appears to be somebody about to donate blood, is that right?

So perhaps cholesterol and blood tests or donation. Is that the tie we are going for here?

Have another.

I'm already past that. Everyone goes through that.

Next time try to not be ignorant of what you're talking about. :thumb:

This is true but if a tree falls in a forrest and no one is around to hear it does it make sounds?

Don't bother with raw eggs....it's less of a concern with biotin, it's more about wasting protein (follow Emma's link)

Slow cooking just about anything is preferred, if nothing else, you avoid burning, which will damage or destroy the protein. Microwaving eggs is fine.

Personally, I'd go easy on the yolks, not because of cholesterol but to control Sat fat intake.
