like the p90x kit with everything i need(weights and pull up bar) oh the wights can be second hand i dont mind same with the bar

Damn. You start a shit load of threads.

Get a local gym membership you will learn more, and be more usefull.. P90x is like any other fad it will disappar just like tae bo, They should have a in-house trainer to set up a workout plan or ask here..

I got a ton of money in my home gym, benches, squat rack, dumbells, treadmill, airbike, heavy bags, leg press, lat pull down, leg ext, 1000lbs of plates, etc.. and I still have no where near what a standard gym has, I could pay for 10 yrs worth of gym membership and not come close to what i have invested in my home gym... a local gym membership is worth it..

get a bench and a power tower...work your way up from there. If you are creative with your equipment, you can save money compared to going to a gym. It might cost a lot now but 10 years later, it is less expensive obviously...

just like most things in the beginning you won't need much, but if you stick to lifting you'll start to need more and more. i have a powertec multi gym, a power rack, a bench press station, and a cable combo machine.

i would be better off if i was just to join a gym, but i have 2 small kids (1 is 19 months) and my wife works twelve hour shifts so having my own gym is the only way i can get it done. i still miss the multitude of workout equipment and the motivational factor of working out with others, but i get it done alone.

It depends on what your goals are and what you intend to do. For me personally, the following equipment would be a minimum must: Fully adjustable bench, olympic bar, a few hundred pounds in weights, dumbbells up to 70 lbs in 10lb increments, squat cage with handle attachment for close grip body exercises. With this I'd be able to do bench press, shoulder press, bb rows, pull ups, chin ups, dips, squats, deadlifts, rack pulls and a variety of isolation lifts with the free weights. Id probably be okay with that but like many have mentioned you're better off inve3sting in a membership. The equipment i mention above will cost you alone in excess of $1200 even second hand which is the cost of a good membership for 3-4 years
