Howard Stern sues Sirius XM

If his contract clearly stated there would be stock awarded, Sirius would not be shocked, they would pay. This had to be some kind of verbal agreement that was never inked or not clearly defined in an otherwise poorly written contract.

That said, Stern is a greedy ---, and he needs to be happy with what he has and get a better attorney to write his damn contracts.

I have listened to every Howard Stern show for the last 10 years. I will honest though. Since he resigned for another 5 years the show just isn't the same. The content just isn't there. It seems like his heart isn't into it. I really wish Artie came back or he filled that chair with someone. I also haven't listened in about a week now. I have never missed that many shows before. I plan on catching up tomorrow though. Wonder if he is talking about this.

Being ruthless has its perks too.

No doubt. Some of the most honored and revered figures in history were ruthless. They made sure to position themselves to be the winners, and also made sure history spoke of them well.

My favorite of those men was Ben Franklin. The dude had chrome plated balls.

Seriously? Some of you are saying that Stern has no talent and he's just weird and creepy. Ya want to know why he has been so successful? It's because he is the only honest guy out there that will tell it how it is. As a listener I respect the man as a person. His show is hilarious, crazy, perverted and distasteful at times but he is real about things. He talks about the same things that anyone of you do with your friends or co-workers, the only difference is he does it on air. The funny thing is, as much as everyone thinks Howard Stern is a woman abusing monster how many times have you seen him get arrested for rape or prostitution? Or be on the news for getting busted cheating on his wife? He's a good guy that can honestly say he's never cheated on either of his wives. As far as the lawsuit goes, wouldn't you sue if you were cheated out of a contract? I don't care how much money you have. And if it wasn't for Howard Stern, there would be no Sirius radio. They should be kissing his ass.

I remember way back when Howard Stern was the main selling point to get satellite radio. I don't like his show, but I acknowledge what he did.

About lesbians?

I don't know if I would say "talented" but extremely driven and he fought his way to the top, I give him credit for that. But lets be real he's just a shock jock, that is all he ever was and is. And the the comedy of his shows had more to do with the people he had working for him. He got booted off public radio, no networks wanted him on the air because of the FCC fines that were incurred on every episode, so he really had no choice but to go to satellite. Kiss their ass? I think a $100 million dollar per year salary is more than generous compensation. Either way, I lost all respect for him after this bullshit lawsuit, I hate greedy people. Lastly, even if there was a verbal contract about stock options, if it was not specifically written in his contract its worthless, verbal contracts have no bearing if a written contract is signed.

Not to mention he paved the way for all those nickel and dime "funny" morning shows that you never hear about.

:coffee:

Stern rules, Ba ba booey!

I love how most people are experts about Howard Stern and yet have never listened to the show. At least my opinion of Oprah being a no-talent, fat, piece of shit is completely warranted...

Don't lie. We know you watch Opera.

Amen that guy loved whores:winkfinger:

I do watch Opera. I have no shame in admitting that. I watch her for the same reasons I watch Tyra. Because they're egotistical, talentless cunts who has the general public by the balls.

Opera may be my least favorite person in the world.

I doubt it was a verbal agreement, because Stern is a pro's pro and knows the business. It's how he got where he is. He didn't come this far by being stupid. That said, a verbal agreement is still legally binding in almost every state.

I have XM, but Ive never listened. Ive wanted to since the beginning, but he had Sirius. Then when they merged, you had to pay EXTRA for him. I didnt elect that clause but I ended up paying more money for it anyway. I ended up totally forgetting about him, so what channel is he?

Oh and is Opie and Anthony even still out there?

again, I repeat, a verbal contract is not valid once a written contract is signed, it does not matter what is said verbally if its not put into the written contract, period.

Howard is channel 100 and 101 on Sirius. I believe O&A are still on the air.

Can you prove this? I never heard he was booted off public radio. Why would any radio station get rid of a cash cow like Stern? He did not get FCC fines every episode. Stern is very smart and knows the rules. He broke them occasionally but not every episode. He maybe got a couple fines per year. He would tell the audience when he got fined all the time. He was proud of it. Free radio was hindering Howard's show. He needed a vehicle like Satellite for his show. And shit for 500 million and no FCC to hold him back. Why wouldn't he go there. As for this stock option thing. I don't know the whole story. But if they said they would pay him something for a job he did and he did it. Well then he should get paid. Just because he is rich as shit doesn't mean he doesn't have to get paid anymore. Again, I don't know the whole story but that's what it sounded like from what I read.

Clear Channel dumped him, he racked up millions in FCC fines and I guess they did not like the image he gave their network.

A Super Fan!?

I love it.

I listen everyday and he provides more me with more entertainment than anyone or any show has. I used to think I hated Howard Stern too until I listened to a whole show about 8 years ago. I've never looked back :)

2.5million. peanuts compared to what he made them.

You would know, we watch Judge Judy everyday :D

knowing how Clear Channel operates I would say it had more to do with their image and their sponsors, not how much money Stern made them.

This is true. He eluded to that when they took him off their channels. Funny how they get rid of him but have no problem taking money from McDonalds for advertising.

I dislike Stern's show, also. I think stern is a loser, and the amount of fans he has reflects why the human race is pathetic. But, that doesn't change the fact that Sirius made a deal with him. You can't just decide that you paid someone enough, and violate a contract agreement.

I guess we will find out if Sirius did in fact make that deal, and whether it was put in writing and signed. That is the only thing that matters in this situation.

i don't like him either but he has a huge fan base, they knew this, they made a shit ton of money from it and they should stick to their agreement. i don't blame him for suing some big blow hole spewing false promises to buy his loyalty and make money off him. if you can't back shit up shut your pie hole.
