Okay, the cancer claims are ridiculous. But he didn't allow his countrymen to get gouged at the gas pump, Venezuelan's pay .12 a gal.

Its not beyond the realm. They tried to kill fidel a dozen diff ways. Fidel even warned chavez. Lot of south american leaders suddenly got cancer after chavez met with them and talked about an alliance. Even the argentinian prez. Well known that the kgb has been known to irradiate people and give them cancer. Not to mention merck knows hoW to put a cancer virus in its vaccines. But our gov would never do such things. Its not like they ever waged bio warfare on natives or gave servicemen Syphilis. Or told the public that the air was totally safe to breathe (nyc post 9/11)

Chavez was a bit of a buffoon, but he paid off the world bank and IMF.
This will definitely put someone on the US's shit list. I remember Pat Robertson (a christian) publicly calling for his assassination.
I would not be surprised if the US tried to take him out in some way, as well as Morales in Bolivia.

Agreed. If death occurs at X time then I'd say drop a bomb on me instead of putting me through years of painful treatments leading up to death.
The gov. requiring that cig. companies put ethylene vinyle acetate in cigarettes to make them "fire safe" shows that they aren't above purposely giving American consumers cancer, so why would they hesitate to not give it to a critic of their ways?
