I deadlifted about a week ago, and i didn't keep my back staight.
Ever since i have a very bad pain in the middle of my back. It feels like a cramp. I'm taking a muscle relaxer called Musco-ril and niflamol for the pain.
Does anyone have any other ideas on what i should do to heal up as fast as possible?

Mike

p.s. I will never let my mind think of other things when i lift...

Mikes... I've had lower back problems for about 10 years and after visiting doctors and physical therapists, learned the best way to keep it healthy is to strengthen the muscles around that region, like you do for a bad knee.

By being very careful, I'm usually 110% better than ever before. But during a set of squats I fuqed my form and really sent my back spasming. I got an extra 2 hours rest for the next two days, layed low on next days routine, then avoided back and legs for another day.... then it was fine.

Like Kuso said, talk to a doctor especially if you've never had problems in the past. If you've done this before or had problems with your back, then try to relax the area eat right and hopefully you'll be back quickly!! :lifter:

Best way to recover, do almost nothing in that area for a week or possibly more if needed, thats the only way I've come back from doing stupid things, either bending over to pickup 2 120's off the rack, or not keeping my back totally straight during trap shrug fatigue.

I've done both of my examples once, and I had to just take it very easy for a week to two weeks, and never ever do it again, and no more problems. I pickup one dumbell off the rack at a time now, and set them up somewhere I can pick them up in a non-dumbass form.

I have to agree with Kuso on this one

Well, i went to the doctor, and he said that i should rest for a couple of weeks. I'm feeling alot better already.
