First off, excuse my abscence... I havent posted on here in almost a year!!! I didnt fall off the wagon, I just changed up my life a little and ran out of spare PC time for posting...
Anyway, Im trying to determine what I can use as a pre-workout meal that is quick and on the go...(i.e. a ready-made drink). I recently added a 6th meal and I need it about an 1hr before I workout. Ideally it can be something that I can purchase but that wont break the bank. Ive used MuscleMilk ($$$) the past 2wks since I added the addtl meal, but its pricey and there are ingred. that Im not crazy about. Is there something a little less exp. that might have similar or better value that I can grab at a Vitamin Shoppe?:hmmm:
 
As I have posted 100 times in the past Optium's 100% Whey is the "whey" to go.
 
Yep some whey, oat bran a some fish oil would be decent.

Ive tried Whey, oats and EFAs before and had decent results. Thanks for the reminder about that combo. Ideally though, I was hoping someone could recommend a decent pre-mixed, ready-to-go drink or something that I could stock up on. I go straight to the gym from the commuter train after work. So, its hard for me to prepare anything at work or before I get on the train. Carrying the MuscleMilk was always easiest, but Im hesitant to cont buyin those as I have heard more neg things than pos about their ingredients list.

So I did some more searchin and I found out that the MuscleMilk RTDs dont have the glycocamine, so now Im not as hesitant to take it as before... but, does anyone suggest anything that has similar or better quality value?
 
Are you tying yourself to having a ready to drink formula? You could easily prepare something the night before in a shaker and add milk in the AM.

Unfortunately, I leave for work too early to workout before. So my workouts are in the evening (@630pm). When I drink the MM, I have it between 5-530pm while Im on the train. It would be difficult for me to bring anything from home that would stay "fresh" from 6am-6pm without refrigeration. :thumbdwn:

Ground oats, whey or casein, and skim milk powder can be put into a little plastic baggie or a shaker cup. When it's time to eat, add water to the oat mixture and have a piece of fruit.

I am often in this situation and I use oats, Sustain, skim milk powder, and a banana. I just add water to the oat mixter and eat the banana sepereately. Very yummy, too.

Nothing above will spoil, either.
