I have heard many people talking about different method to shock the muscle to grow.
how about doing the same thing over and over again for years with weight increase at least every two weeks. Do you think your body will adapt to heavier workload every two weeks and get bigger? Or it will stay the same because of the same routine over and over again for years eventhough a few pounds have been added to the trained body parts at least every two weeks? Is there a chance that people being able to lift heavier making forward progress at least every two weeks stay the same size . Ignore the fact that it is boring to stay on the same routine for years and lose motivation to workout. Please read the quote below if you disagree.
