CowPimp said:I would skip the banana post workout. First of all, the sugar in fruits is low GI, and you are obviously going for an insulin spike. Second, the sugar refills liver glycogen, not my glycogen stores (Although probably both to some extent).
My thoughts exactly, I know when I go on my cut I'm gonna be taking away all dairy and fruits (might limit myself to 1 pear a day)Jodi said:

Jodi said:Why even have something in your cut that is hindering your results? There are much better fruits out that should be eaten while cutting such as pears, peaches, apples, berries, grapefruits. Bananas are one of the worst. They are on the high side of the GI and a medium GL. They promote quite the insulin response which is what we should strive to stay away from while cutting.

Emma-Leigh said:ALA does not spike insulin - it is a 'glucose disposal agent', which means it helps direct glucose into your tissues/muscles. This is why it is great post-workout (as it aids in muscle recovery and glycogen regeneration). It is also excellent in your general daily intake - just to aid in the overall glucose utilisation in your body (especially if you are somewhat insulin resistant).
On another note it is also a brilliant anti-oxidant (another reason to take it post-workout).
I disagree. I think they are one of the the worst while cutting.ryuage said:I dont think the question was are there better fruits you could eat besides a banana... it was are they ok while cutting... yes they are![]()
