I have a couple five pound weights on my desk and i like to just stand and do some high rep (to the point i lose count) workouts with them from time to time. It's my variation of 'pacing' around the room.

But is this a bad idea? Should I just start pacing around the room. I understand the value of doing these "exercises" might be very small I'm just curious if it's harming anything.

Depends if you are trying to achieve something, and if you are what it is you are trying to achieve. No harm being done, but probably a good amount of lactic acid being built up which inhibits the growth of your muscles being a waste product of your glycogen stores. But yeah... no harm.

How high? 20, 30, 50, 100 reps???

it is good for muscular endurance, but answer foremans question

What are you hoping to achieve with this?

By the way, do you live anywhere near the MC campus? I took an Anatomy class there last semester.
