I have been reading up on all the awesome advances that everyone has been making with the P/RR/S routine that Gopro has shared with everyone. My question is if I am pretty new to lifting, would it be wise to start with this program? If not, is there like a precursor to the P/RR/S routine?

i too, am new and would like to know the answer to this. But if i had to guess, i would say its for anyone who can remain focus and dedicated while exibiting patience....i suppose thats any workout routine actually, but whatever.

if my understanding is correct, the power and rep range weeks are fine for beginners. but one may want to hold off on the shock week for a while until they feel more comfortable. this isnt to say a beginner CANT do shock week, but i just dont think its necessary

I hope the testimonials of the prrs are not from newbies.....as they'd gain massively anyway with whatever program they're on

Newbies can use the programme but drop the shock side for about 9 weeks do P/P/RR or P/RR/RR then add the shock later.

I wont say i gain massively like you are thinkin Terok but it has been steady and consistant (when i eat right) for about 2 yrs now. I had been training for a year b4 i started P/RR/S, now i just get accused of being on gear cause no one in my gym can achive the results that i've got unless they use.....

P/RR/S = as good as an injection :hehe:

glad to hear it :) i'm sure it's been explained somewhere but what's the objective of the shock week?

Each week of the program provides a unique stimulus for your muscles (more specifically muscle fibers), endocrine system (hormones), metabolic system, and central nervous system. I called SHOCK WEEK what I did because it provides a serious shock to all of these systems and the severity of the workout will force your body to get larger and stronger as a response...this is how the body protects itself in preparation for a similar onslaught. Shock week is also unique in that it taxes the cardiovasuclar system, and enhances your ability to push your muscles for longer periods, as well as increases your pain threshold. Newbies do not need shock week to stimulate gains, but RR and P week alternated in some fashion (depending on goals) is excellent for them.
