I recently change my rice consumpation from white to brown rice I've notice a big difference in the texture and taste the brown rice has which has an outer husk that tastes crunchy.... Does anyone know of another alternative(rice) that I can subtituate.

Isn't Green Peace an environmental organization ? That's an interesting mixture. Just don't mix the rice with baby seals. Green Peace will get pissed.

You don't like the texture of the rice?

Basmatti rice is also pretty low GI.... as is Doongara rice (an Australian rice) and traditional short grain japanese rice is not too bad either.

You could also something very much LIKE rice - which is pearl barley. It is MUCH lower in GI (29) and is very good for you.

When i bought my honda it had alot of rice (race inspired cosmetic enhancements) but i took it all off.

I guess you could try wild rice? But dont let green peace know your hunting it. :D

basmati or brown basmati are my personal favs.

It does take some getting used to. Brown rice takes a bit longer than white rice to cook. If cooked right it shouldnt be 'crunchy'. But it does have a stronger taste/flavour than white rice. Cant help that. You will accustomed to it with time.

What's wrong with white rice?
High on the GI scale.

I really like it! It is ok by itself, but if you cook it up with some lemon juice, garlic, mixed herbs and fresh black pepper it is REALLY good!! :lick:

Actually white rice isn't much higher than brown.
Huge difference 124 for white compared to 50-65 for brown, depending on kind.

yeah but its def. not 124 unless its instant or extremely gluatnous(sticky) rice. Long grain white rice is only 5 -8 pts. higher.
