Does human vitality/energy survive? Maybe. Does a light bulb survive after it's burnt...no. But we are not light bulbs.
If human energy does survive death, big deal. Personality is a biochemical phenomenon existing in and because of our brains. Your personality dies when you die. Kind of fits from a phenomenological point of view. Why would anyone be sad for someone's death if they are going on to a better place? Shit, we should all pray for a quick death then.
What's wrong with fulfillment in this life? I think god did a pretty good job with life as we know it. Emphasis on some fantasy afterlife is decadent and as such does an injustice to the grandeur of the only life any human has ever known. Divinity manifested in creation...a pretty compelling idea. Not pantheism but something more.
