my friend trains like this and he is bretty big but i get stronger but not bigger

cant say...u need to say the number of set and reps for each one.........

and for "my friend trains like this and he is bretty big but i get stronger but not bigger"

either he is eating better...or he just has better genes..or this aint the rotine for u

the first 2 sets are a w/u
third is to faliure in the 8-10 range
the 4th and 5th to faliure in 4-6 range
the 6th is a drop set to faliure
also the 2nd is done to faliure like 15-18

agreed, we cannot assess a routine that does not give the sets and reps.

And as well, the diet.

People are far too quick to jump on the "overtraining" bandwagon, without looking at all the factors/concepts involved.

im not jumping on the bandwagon just i dont really know I am sorta new at this so i fig ilwould ask people that know. only one way to learn. Through reading many posts i have been able to learn a lot about nutrition and training but when you read so much conflicting stuff I sorta get lost in it.

I sincerely apologize.

I was speaking in general, not specifically against you.

:)

I think my diet is okay i am doing a 50/30/20 p/c/f and i am slowly increasing cals. i really screwed up my met. due to severe cal def. before. I am eating 2000 cal a day.

Why do additional sets beyond failure? That will lead to overtraining. Also, are you truly training to failure? That is a key indicator for your training progress.

i am 147lbs it would not be good two do a second drop set. . i figured that it would make sure i really went to faliure. I dont really know i just went into a gym last year and started working out i was at like 180 36"waist and worked my ass off to get to where i am now at 147 28.5" waist 5%bf. I actually just brought magazines in with me to teach me (that sucked a lot of people where raggin on me) so now that i have found this site and other forums i want to progress further and want to know how i can inprove my traing
