Xenbiotic contaminants and dietary effect on fatty liver syndrome
I suppose this is a good a place as any to ask this question! Don't know if you've run across a company called Isagenix, but if you do a search on the net, seems everybody is selling the stuff -a MLM company. Their main claim to fame is the following:
The basis of the Isagenix "diet" is cleanse the body and the weight will literally melt off. The body has a tendency to accumulate and retain fat longer when it is loaded with toxins The more chemicals and toxins, the more fat the body manufactures. Your body holds onto fat longer if it's loaded with chemicals and toxins.
Sounds like a lot of BS to me. At least it goes against the limited amount of physiology I've learned. Can someone tell me if fat indeed retain toxins as claimed? Is there any basis to their claim that it is possible to "scrub" the fat stored in the fat cells and remove the toxins stored there? And if you remove these toxins, the body sheds the fat? I figure there must some basis for these claims - they just can't be making all of this up. Any thoughts? I am in no way associated with the company! Only looking for insight. Thank you!
